Our Mission
The Campbell High School Cross Country Team is committed to developing dedicated student-athletes who strive for excellence both on the course and in the classroom. Through hard work, discipline, integrity, and teamwork, we inspire one another to reach our full potential while embracing the challenges that build resilience and character.
We believe success is measured not only by personal records, but by the relationships we build, the respect we show, and the determination we demonstrate every day. Every runner is valued, every effort matters, and every finish line is an opportunity to grow.
Together, we foster a culture of accountability, encouragement, and inclusion, proudly representing our school and the CHS community with sportsmanship, humility, and pride.
We run with purpose, compete with heart, and leave a legacy that extends far beyond the finish line.

COACH MADDEN
This is Coach Madden’s first year as the Head Cross Country Coach at Campbell High School, but she is no stranger to our school community, as it is her third year helping coach the Girls Lacrosse team!
A passionate educator, Coach Madden is teaching Algebra this year and has experience teaching students across all subjects and grade levels. That broad experience has shaped a coaching philosophy centered on the student-athlete, student first. She believes in meeting each athlete where they are, supporting their individual goals, and helping them reach the next level if that’s what they aspire to do.
Through Cross Country, Coach Madden hopes to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a strong sense of community while supporting each athlete throughout their individual journey. Her focus is on growth, hard work, and helping student-athletes reach their full potential while becoming the best versions of themselves, both on and off the course.

COACH NEWTON
Coach Newton is entering his sixth year as the Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Campbell High School. As a former collegiate runner, he brings both experience and a genuine passion for the sport to every practice and competition. Dedicated to developing the whole athlete, Coach Newton has helped runners achieve faster times while fostering confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of running.
Under his leadership, Campbell's cross country program has experienced tremendous growth, both in participation and competitive success. Over the past five years, the team has expanded significantly and earned four appearances at the Georgia State Cross Country Championships, reflecting the culture of hard work, commitment, and excellence he has built.

ASSISTANT COACH HODGE
I have been a runner since high school, and in 2003, I discovered my love for half marathons. Since then, race day has become one of my favorite experiences. While teaching in Hoover, Alabama, I had the opportunity to coach track at Bumpus Middle School. Currently, I teach 3rd grade at King Springs Elementary and have enjoyed serving as a Girls on the Run coach for several years. Running is one of my greatest passions, and I'm excited to share that passion with the team this season!
